DRIVING LESSONS TO HELP YOU GET YOUR DRIVING LICENCE
What To Expect On The Day Of Your Driving License Test.
GETTING TO THE TEST & BACK
On the day of your driving licence test your qualified driving instructor will collect you at your preferred address. If requested, a driving lesson will be completed before the test. The driving instructor will take you to the DLTC where the examination will take place.
We will ensure that you arrive at least an hour before the test in order to cover the test route so that you are familiar with any obstacles before the test commences.
Once you have completed your test you will be dropped back at your preferred address.
PRE-TRIP INSPECTION & YARD TEST
30 minutes before the test you will need to report to the reception area so that they know you are present. You will then be seated in a waiting area ahead of the commencement of your test.
Just before the test begins you will be directed to your vehicle where you will complete a pre-trip inspection.
Once the pre-trip inspection has been completed, the examiner will confirm that you can move onto the yard test.
Your examiner will guide you to the yard and indicate which method of manoeuvring they would like you to complete first.
THE ROAD TEST
Provided you have passed the yard test, your examiner will indicate to proceed on to the road test.
Once on the road you will demonstrate your driving ability and application of the K53 driving method.
The road test takes place on a pre-defined examination route with your examiner in the car. You are scored according to your response to obstacles on the road and application of K53 principles at all times.
On conclusion of your road test, you are directed back to the station where your score is tallied and your examiner confirms that you have passed.
WHAT TO BRING ON THE DAY OF YOUR TEST
As the saying goes, “if you fail to prepare, prepare to fail”. Be sure that you are prepared for your driving licence test by bringing the following:
- Your original ID document.
- A copy of your ID document.
- A valid learner licence not older than 24 months.
- 2 x ID photos.
- R228 for the issuing of your temporary driver’s licence.
- A black pen.
- Water & sweets to stay alert.
